The Moral Decline of Greta Thunberg and Luisa Neubauer: A Bitter Betrayal of the Climate Protection Movement

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com October 27, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Greta Thunberg and Luisa Neubauer were the dream team of the climate protection movement.

They roused millions of children and young people to fight for a supposedly better world. Became role models for an entire generation.

Greta’s moral decline is all the more bitter. In the language of Islamists and conspiracy theorists (“martyrs”, “Western media lies”), “Fridays for Future International” takes a radical approach that is in no way inferior to Attila Hildmann.

Luisa Neubauer and Greta Thunberg’s shared path must end here. Neubauer must not leave the slightest suspicion that she still has anything to do with her completely broken, anti-Semitic partner group.

Anything else would be poison: for their credibility, for climate protection, and above all for the intellectual climate of young people in Germany.

13th Global Climate Strike: Thousands take to the streets in Germany and worldwide for climate action

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 15, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Things had recently become quiet around Fridays for Future. The nerve potential of the climate glue of the last generation group was and is too high. They have settled in Berlin again since Wednesday and want to stay permanently – on Monday again with street blockades and sticking campaigns. On Friday they will be taking part in the 13th Global Climate Strike organized by Fridays for Future.

There are said to be hundreds of actions across Germany today, and thousands worldwide. A large demonstration is planned in Berlin from 12 p.m., which has attracted tens of thousands of participants in recent years.

According to the movement’s estimates, more than 220,000 people took part in the last climate action day on March 3rd in Germany alone. The big strike in Berlin in March, with around 20,000 participants, was far behind the number of participants from previous years. In 2019, around 100,000 people took part in Berlin.

BILD shows where exactly the demonstrations are taking place today.

Berlin

Several feeder demos lead to the large demo at the Brandenburg Gate. The demo procession starts moving there from 12 p.m. and moves through the government district. The exact route will be announced on Friday morning.

Plans for the Brandenburg Gate include: Speeches by Luisa Neubauer and performances by bands such as Juli, the Berliner Pub Choir, the singer Elif and the musician Bosse. The motto: “End Fossil Fuels”.

However, several small demonstrations had already blocked the streets in Berlin. From 11 a.m. in front of the Natural History Museum (for students) and in front of the main building of the Technical University (for students). A bicycle demo starts at 9.30 a.m. on Spindlerfelder Straße (Treptow-Köpenick district).

Munich Police Crack Down on Climate Activists: Trio Placed in Jail

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com August 30, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Munich police remain true to their hard line against climate chaos: Now three of them are in jail.

Munich – During the blockades on Monday in Munich – including on the Mittlerer Ring – the police took the trio into custody. Below: Climate Shakira Anja Windl. A magistrate has decided that they must remain in preventive detention until September 12th. bang!

The reason, according to the police: After repeated commission of crimes (coercion and attempted coercion), the commission of further crimes should be prevented. The people (a 26-year-old woman from Straubing, a 43-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man both living in Berlin) were involved in several last-generation blockades on Monday.

On Wednesday, the police even added in a press release that a total of nine people have already been taken into custody.

According to BILD information, the 26-year-old is a psychology student Anja Windl, who has become known under the nickname Klima-Shakira because of the similarity to the Colombian singer. Windl originally comes from Straubing, but is currently studying in Austria.

The last generation also posts on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter) that Windl is in preventive custody.

Not only in Bavaria does Windl have trouble with the authorities – in Austria she already has a lot of trouble with the authorities. Because they want to expel the permanent gluer to Germany because she is constantly blocking traffic with her actions.

Windl poses a threat to the Federal Office for Asylum and Immigration (BAF) in Austria because she repeatedly takes part in tape campaigns. The “Last Generation” activist was also involved in the attempted storming of the Vienna New Year’s Concert. The police just prevented that in January.

After the many actions and incidents, the authorities are certain: public safety was endangered by Windl’s actions and may therefore have to leave the country. She was heard on April 6 by BAF employees.

But now Windl is in preventive custody in Munich until September 12th. She had previously announced that she was going on a tour of Bavaria and taking part in various adhesive campaigns.

Klima-Shakira to BILD last week: “I’m from Bavaria, so of course it’s important to me to be active here, as a sort of protest against the policy of Markus Söder, who actually managed to only build five wind turbines .”

BILD did not reach the 26-year-old on her cell phone on Wednesday …

Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra Nominated for European Commissioner as Frans Timmermans Resigns

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com August 25, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra was nominated on Friday as a candidate for the post of European Commissioner, after the resignation of Frans Timmermans, responsible for EU climate policy, to stand in the next Dutch elections.

“After consultations within the government and with the President of the European Commission, I have decided to present Wopke Hoekstra as a candidate for the European Commission,” Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said in a statement.

Wopke Hoekstra has headed the Foreign Office since 2022. Before that, he served as Finance Minister between 2017 and 2022. He was then in charge of discussions on the EU’s financial recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic . He became known in Brussels as one of the most virulent opponents of sharing the tax burden. With the so-called “frugal” countries, he opposed the issuance of collective debt in the form of “corona bonds”.

But before joining the Commission, he will have to pass a hearing before the European Parliament.

Frans Timmermans, head of EU climate policy, formally resigned from the Commission earlier this week. The institution announced that Maroš Šefčovič, in charge of relations with the United Kingdom and the establishment of a common gas purchasing platform, would take over Frans Timmermans’ previous responsibilities as vice-president of the European Commission for the Green Deal. But the climate portfolio remains to be filled.

Wopke Hoekstra comes from the ranks of the right and belongs to the European People’s Party (EPP). He has recently been criticized for his attempts to limit the Union’s climate ambition.

In response to the nomination, the Social Democrats (S&D) Group in the European Parliament on Friday confirmed its claim to retain the climate portfolio, describing Wopke Hoekstra as a “controversial” candidate.

“In the context of recent cynical and populist maneuvers by the conservative EPP to water down the Green Deal and derail key legislative files such as the Nature Restoration Act, it is crucial for our group that the climate portfolio remains in the hands of the family of socialists and democrats”, underlines the formation in a press release.

“Wopke Hoekstra made himself known to the general European public through controversial statements during the Covid-19 crisis”, add the Social Democrats. “To gain the support of our group, any commissioner-designate must prove beyond a shadow of a doubt their commitment to European values, such as solidarity as a cornerstone of our union.”

Wopke Hoekstra’s hearing before the European Parliament should take place in early autumn.

Maximizing Funding for Heat Pump Installations: A Guide for Germans

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com July 23, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Our heaters should be cleaner in the future!

By 2028 at the latest, newly installed heating systems must be able to be operated in a manner that is at least 65 percent climate-neutral. This is what the traffic light government’s heating law, which has been revised several times, provides for.

Many Germans are now thinking about whether it is worth installing a heat pump. And if so: how to get as much money as possible from the state.

Just read with BILDplus what to consider when buying a heat pump in order to get as much funding as possible!
