Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming the ‘prima donna’ in the technology industry and is starting to spread specifically to the smartphone sector. Mobile phone manufacturers are competing to embed AI into their products to increase added value.

This trend was started by Samsung with the Galaxy S24 series through the ‘Galaxy AI’ feature which was launched at the beginning of this year. Many Chinese Android manufacturers are starting to show off AI capabilities.

TechRadar reported, Friday (15/3/2024), the next Galaxy S25 will most likely benefit from embedding AI, compared to the iPhone 16 series released by Apple.

According to a report by the Korean site Ajunews, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset will bring major improvements that will support the implementation of AI in the Android flagship series released in 2025. In fact, it is said that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is more capable than the A18 Pro chipset which is predicted to be part of the iPhone 16 series.

More specifically, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is said to support LPDDR6 RAM which is not currently available, but its performance should be much improved compared to the previous generation. Reportedly, the standard for RAM will be finalized and mass produced this year.

This RAM will be faster and more efficient, making it more capable of carrying out heavy tasks such as supporting AI capabilities. This means that Android smartphones released in 2025, including the Galaxy S25, will be more powerful and innovative with AI-based features.

Leaked iPhone 16 specifications

Apart from that, the iPhone 16 will be released first and leaks are already circulating on the internet. One of them, the Pro model is said to have a larger screen.

Tipster Ross Young says the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max (or Ultra) will feature 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays. In addition, all iPhone models are also said to use thinner bezels, as well as bring much higher brightness levels.

Apple is also said to be embedding technology that makes the iPhone 15 more power efficient. That way, the issue of leaking batteries can be more resolved.

However, it is reported that these various capabilities will increase production costs, so the selling price of the iPhone 16 series is also said to be increasing.
