Salesforce is expanding Slack‘s capabilities by opening it up to integrations with third-party artificial intelligence tools, including Google, Anthropic, Dropbox, and Perplexity. The move aims to bring external AI power directly into workplace interaction and collaboration.
Currently in closed beta, the integrations will allow Slack users to access features like document analysis via Anthropic’s Claude, corporate knowledge retrieval through Google’s Agentspace, and AI-powered search results from Perplexity within their slack channels. Dropbox is also integrating its RTS API into an AI-assisted addiction tool. Salesforce plans to make the Real-Time Sales (RTS) API and the Messaging Connector Protocol (MCP) server available to end customers in early 2026, with Slack work Objects opening to all developers by the end of October. Thes developments signal a broader trend of embedding AI directly into communication platforms to enhance productivity and decision-making.
