A creative pet ownerโฃ is captivating social media with herโ€‹ uniqueโ€‹ art form: craftingโฃ miniature dolls โคresembling teh โขpopular Labubu figures entirely from her cat’s shed fur. The project, initially shared on โคinstagram on July 13, has quickly gained widespread โ€‹attention, โฃamassing โ€over 1.4 million views and 70,348 likes as of Monday.

The artist, identified as Curtis and โคknown online as @thekatcurtis, began โ€‹by collecting the blackโฃ fur shed by her cat, Uno โ€‹(@one_eared_uno), during regular โ€Œbrushing. She then spentโ€ approximately four hours-spread across several episodes ofโ€ the Netflix seriesโค “Ginny and Georgia”-carefully molding โคand shaping โ€the fur into aโค Labubu-sized doll. The resultingโ€Œ creation features the character’s signature ears, and a โ€hand-drawn devilish smile, alongโ€Œ with miniature hands โขand โฃfeet.

“My cat โฃthought โคit was fascinating that the Labubu smelled like โ€Œhim andโ€‹ sniffedโค the doll aโฃ lot,”โฃ Curtis shared.

Curtis โ€‹has since expandedโข her โคfurryโ€ creations, producing a series of mini โ€Œstatues. Each piece takes around 20 minutes to complete and is often gifted to followers of Uno’s Instagram account. The Labubu figure, โ€Œoriginally designed by Japanese artist KAWS (Brian Donnelly), has become a highly sought-after โ€‹collectible, known for its distinctive โขcompanion character.

The innovative project has sparked enthusiastic reactions online. Comments onโ€‹ theโ€ Instagram post include, “Now this I would buy!!” and “The only Labubuโ€ I will get behind!”โ€ Another user remarked, “I KNEW I’ve been collecting my rabbitsโค fur for aโค reason, you are a GENIUS.”
