Palacios Store Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Showcase of ’90s Generation Talent
San Juan, Puerto Rico – Palacios, a local store, recently hosted an event celebrating the talents of individuals who came of age in the 1990s, marking its own 30th anniversary. The event aimed to dispel the notion that the store caters to a single demographic, highlighting the diverse skills of a generation now pursuing careers in fields like design, winemaking, and craftsmanship.
Store owner Ileana Martínez emphasized the intention behind the gathering: “And then I said, well, then, all this generation does interesting things. Some make tables, others are sommeliers, others design, why not gather them under the same roof?”
Martínez, who previously worked in the marketing of american wineries in France, connected the event to her experiences and desire to foster community. She also shared advice for enduring business challenges: “Never be afraid and know that tough times come…you will come very difficult moments, so prepare, you have to grab again. But, not being afraid of spending the store as it has to be, as when you put things in the middle, people realize.”
The event featured Emilio Cordero, Sofía Fonseca, Courtney Cordero, and Rodrigo Corral, among others, and underscored Palacios’ commitment to supporting local talent and continuing its legacy for years to come.
