Jawa 350 OHC: Retro Motorcycles with Modern Appeal
Jawa, the Czech motorcycle manufacturer, is making waves with its Jawa 350 OHC and 350 OHC Sport models. These motorcycles blend retro aesthetics with modern engineering, appealing to riders who appreciate classic design and contemporary performance.
Performance and Specifications
Both the Jawa 350 OHC and 350 OHC Sport share a four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 20 kW (approximately 27 horsepower) at 6,500 rpm and a torque of 31 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The motorcycles feature a five-speed gearbox, providing a versatile riding experience.
Did you know? The Jawa 350 OHC engine’s design prioritizes reliability and ease of maintenance, making it a practical choice for everyday riding.
Design and Inspiration
Jawa emphasizes the retro design of these models, drawing inspiration from its iconic predecessors. The company is betting on a retro design reminiscent of the legendary predecessors for the Czech brand of the traditional volume category – ie “third -depth”.
Specifically, the Jawa 350 OHC’s appearance is heavily influenced by the Type 634, a two-stroke, two-cylinder motorcycle produced in the 1970s and 1980s. However, the exhaust system takes cues from four-stroke motorcycles like the Jawa 500 OHC.
Pro Tip: when maintaining your Jawa 350 OHC,pay close attention to the air cooling system. Ensure the fins are clean and free from obstructions to prevent overheating.
Jawa 350 OHC Sport: A Nod to Racing Heritage
The Jawa 350 OHC Sport pays homage to Jawa’s rich history in motorcycle competitions. While sharing the same engine and gearbox as the standard OHC model, the Sport variant features distinct styling elements.
Key differences include a classic drop-shaped fuel tank, unique fenders, and a differently angled exhaust pipe. These modifications give the sport model a more aggressive and sporty appearance.
Manufacturing and Retrofitting
The Jawa 350 OHC models are based on the Chinese motorcycle Shineeray. These motorcycles are assembled in Týnec nad Sázavou, Czech Republic, where they are retrofitted with components from Jawa’s own production.
Color Options and Pricing
Both the Jawa 350 OHC and 350 OHC Sport are available in black and red. Jawa offers these color options at no additional cost, allowing customers to choose their preferred style without incurring extra charges.
Recently, Jawa reduced the prices of both motorcycles by 10,000 crowns. The standard 350 OHC is now priced at 99,900 crowns, while the OHC Sport starts at 104,990 crowns. According to Jawa, Both machines currently represent the most affordable new motorcycles in Jawa.
