State Grid Shanghai prepares for 8th China International Import Expo with Smart Power Solutions
State Grid Shanghai Municipal Electric Power company is fully prepared to ensure a secure and reliable electricity supply for the 8th China International import Expo (CIIE), launching a mobilization rally on October 30th with over 200 personnel from 20 support units. Their strategy centers around a significantly upgraded “Panoramic Smart Power Supply Guarantee System 8.0” and a new “Four Proactives” operational model (proactive maintenance, upgrades, repair, and service).
Key features of their preparation include:
* Smart, Predictive Operations: Real-time grid monitoring, including drone patrols to identify and address potential issues like vegetation encroachment.
* Advanced drone Inspection System: Automated, remotely dispatched drones with adaptive recognition technology for early hazard detection, shifting from reactive fault-finding to proactive risk reporting.
* Complete Sensor Network: Within the National Exhibition and Convention Center, a network of 6,013 data collection points, along with specialized monitors for partial discharge, transformer acoustics, ATS cabinets, and environmental conditions, enables real-time health assessment and predictive diagnostics.
* Autonomous Inspection Robot (“Tianshu”): A four-legged robot patrolling substations, equipped with multi-modal sensing for component condition assessment and specialized tasks like partial discharge detection.
* Intensive Inspections: Extensive checks of key sites (convention center, World Meeting Hall, riverside lighting) and transmission lines, resulting in the identification and resolution of 191 defects or hidden risks. This included 2,385 cable inspections covering 8,081 kilometers and 517 substation inspections.
* 100% Green Power: The expo will be powered entirely by approximately 8 million kWh of renewable energy sourced through inter-provincial green power trading, continuing a three-year streak.
* Robust Emergency Response: 2,500 professional staff will guard key sites and power lines, supported by over 3,100 repair personnel and 891 emergency power vehicles on 24-hour standby.
This comprehensive approach demonstrates State Grid Shanghai’s commitment to a “zero-defect” standard and a secure, reliable, and sustainable power supply for the CIIE.
