Announcement of the latest AI features and ‘Unity Cloud’… Next major software release ‘Unity 6’ debuts

Unity announced new AI innovations and platform updates at its annual developer conference, Unite, to effectively help game developers realize their vision.

Unity introduced an early access version of Unity Muse, an AI suite that simplifies content creation, and unveiled the first major software release, Unity 6 (formerly 2023 LTS), scheduled for release in 2024. Additionally, the company announced ‘Unity Cloud’, a connected product and service platform that helps developers systematically manage content across projects and pipelines.

First released as an early access version, Unity Muse is a product that provides continuously expanding features to simplify content creation. Unity Muse provides answers and resources across Unity, including ‘Muse Chat’ to obtain usable code, ‘Muse Sprites’ to create 2D sprites and many of their variations, and ‘Muse Sprites’ to create high-quality 2D and 3D-ready textures. It provides functions such as ‘Muse Texture’. Muse sprites and textures are powered by custom deep learning models trained only on data and images owned or licensed by Unity. Therefore, no people, logos, or identifiable artistic styles are included in this dataset.

Unity Muse is available as a standalone product for $30 per month, and subscribers can access ‘Muse Animate’, which allows developers to implement character movements without code, ‘Muse Behavior’, which allows developers to set up character interactions without code, rapid prototyping and team development. You will have priority access to features such as ‘Muse Sketch’, a 3D canvas for collaboration.

While Unity Muse helps improve developers’ workflows, ‘Unity Sentis’ helps developers bring complex AI data models into the Unity runtime and use AI models in games to solve complex tasks and implement new features. Unity Sentis, currently available as an open beta version, is scheduled to be officially released in 2024.

Unity 6 is Unity’s next major software release, scheduled for release in 2024. Unity 6 delivers significantly improved performance with enhanced visuals, accelerates the creation and expansion of multiplayer games, and helps developers push the boundaries with stronger AI support, next-generation mobile features, and innovative VR device support. Additionally, Unity 6 expands visual quality to create more massive and rich worlds as efficiently as possible.
