Feu Vert & Sage: How AI Boosts SME Customer Management & Efficiency

Thionville, France – A partnership between EBRA Inspirations and Sage is bringing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with early adopters reporting significant potential for streamlining operations and improving financial management. The collaboration was highlighted at the Salon du recrutement et de l’emploi in Thionville on October 17, 2025.

Feu Vert, a European automotive service network with nearly 500 centers including 170 branches, is among the first companies to explore the benefits of Sage Copilot, an AI agent integrated within Sage’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Odile Chassignol, Feu Vert’s Accounting Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the technology, particularly its potential for enhanced customer tracking within their business-to-business (B2B) sector. “We are eager to see Sage’s AI agent function within our ERP. We already have many ideas for its use,” she stated.

Fatima Attmane, Director of Information Systems at Feu Vert, emphasized the value of seeing concrete applications of AI. “It was very interesting to see practical cases and to understand how artificial intelligence can improve daily tasks for accountants, saving time and increasing reliability,” Attmane said.

The success of AI implementation, according to Feu Vert’s experience, hinges on its application to specific management challenges and its seamless integration into existing software. This aligns with a broader trend identified in a 2024 report, “The Secrets of Successful CFOs,” which notes that 90% of financial leaders are utilizing AI, yet only 26% are realizing substantial time savings.

This disparity, Sage argues, stems from the limitations of general-purpose generative AI. While capable of responding to a wide range of queries, these systems lack the specialized knowledge and data access required for effective business management. Generalist AI struggles with understanding specific business processes like accounting, treasury, and collections, and often operates with limited access to a company’s core data.

Sage Copilot differentiates itself by being exclusively dedicated to the challenges faced by businesses in areas such as purchasing, sales, finance, inventory, and human resources. It is trained on 40 years of management data and is directly integrated into Sage software. According to Sage, this approach is designed to augment existing business processes rather than operate as a separate tool.

The benefits of this integrated approach are already being demonstrated across various business sizes. For example, Sage Intacct, used by multi-site organizations, is leveraging AI to automatically match purchase orders with invoices, a task that previously required significant manual effort. A restaurant company with approximately 40 active suppliers and 100-250 invoices per month per location is experiencing streamlined invoice reconciliation.

For smaller organizations, Sage Copilot assists with cash flow management by facilitating mass invoice follow-ups with personalized messaging for each debtor and providing instant performance analysis. Sage Active, a solution for small businesses, is benefiting from these capabilities.

The increasing availability of electronic invoicing, and the resulting improvement in data quality, is expected to further enhance the effectiveness of AI-powered solutions for SMEs.
