CAPEโข CANAVERAL,FL – NASA โis inviting media representatives to cover the highly anticipated launch of the Artemis II lunar mission,scheduled toโฃ lift off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard the agency’s Space Launch System โค(SLS) rocket and โOrion spacecraft. The mission will validate critical systemsโข and hardware necessary for future human deep space exploration, markingโ aโ significant stepโฃ toward returning astronauts to theโค Moon and eventually, mars.
The Artemis II mission is a pivotal element of NASA’s Artemis program, representing a new era of humanโข spaceflight. This missionโข will send a crew of four astronauts on a โjourney that โขwill testโ the orion spacecraft’s life support systems and capabilities in โthe harsh surroundings of deep space. The launch will be a landmark event, paving the way for new American crewed missions โto the lunar surface.
Media accreditation is required to access โขlaunch viewing opportunities. Non-U.S.citizens must submit requests by Sunday, โNovember 30, โคwhile U.S. citizens have until Monday, December โฃ8 to apply. โJournalists holding annual accreditations to Kennedy Space Center must still request access for this specific launch. accreditation for the artemis II โlaunch โฃalsoโฃ grants access to โฃpre-launch events,โ including a presentation of the integrated rocket and spacecraft severalโค weeks prior โฃto liftoff; details regarding release dates for these events will be forthcoming.
Applications must be โขsubmitted online at https://media.ksc.nasa.gov. Due to high demand, access to launchโ activities will be limited, and approval confirmations will be sent via email, including details on pre- and post-launch events. โข
