New Fair Mechanism for Reserving Employees from Mobilization in Ukraine – Latest Updates

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com March 13, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

During martial law in Ukraine, all male citizens aged 18-60 are subject to mobilization. But there are employees of critical companies and government bodies who may be excluded from mobilization.

In early February, President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine plans to develop a new fair mechanism for reserving employees of enterprises subject to military conscription.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, at first they discussed the idea of providing armor to hired employees and individual entrepreneurs whose monthly tax payment is about 6500 hryvnia (income tax or single tax for individual entrepreneurs). If we talk about hired workers, then we were talking about Ukrainians, earning more than 35,000 hryvnia per month.

However, upon further discussion of this initiative, they first decided to exclude individual entrepreneurs from this mechanism, and soon decided to abandon the condition of a relatively high amount of taxes for employees. It will be left only as an additional criterion.

For days, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, Dmitry Natalukha, said that at the end of March a bill on economic reservation from mobilization may appear in parliament, providing for the payment of an increased military tax, as well as the possibility of reservation for individual entrepreneurs. According to Natalukha, the deputies who are preparing the bill do not have criteria for minimum wages and positions.

Russian Forces Shift Focus to Novopavlovsk Direction after Capture of Avdeevka: Latest Updates from Frontline Operations

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com March 6, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

After the capture of Avdeevka, the Russians shifted the focus of their main efforts to the Novopavlovsk direction (Marinka area). The speaker of the operational-strategic group of troops “Tavria” Dmitry Likhovoy spoke about this on air at the telethon.

According to him, in the Avdeevka area the Russians still continue to attack, but there the actions of the occupiers are already mainly local in nature. At the same time, the Russian command began to pull its main reserves to the area of the village of Novomikhailovka, which is south of the city of Maryinka, which was ground into dust by the aggressor.

“There the enemy is beating his forehead against the eastern outskirts [Новомихайловки]has the goal of moving forward, makes great efforts, really pulls up reserves there, and for him this is the main direction of attack in the Donetsk region after Avdievka,” Likhovoy said.

He noted that in the last 24 hours alone, in the Novopavlovsk direction, the Defense Forces repulsed 39 enemy assaults – this is the largest number for one direction in recent times.

Situation on the front line: latest news

As UNIAN wrote, the Ukrainian Armed Forces probably received a new batch of ammunition from Western partners. This was stated by ATO veteran, military expert Evgeniy Diky. According to him, Ukrainian artillery has noticeably intensified.

At the same time, the Russians continue to try to advance at least a little more to the north-west of Avdeevka. As they said in the 3rd assault brigade, the aggressor is now wiping out its troops in the village of Orlovka, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces have entrenched themselves on a new defensive line.

Ukrainian Armed Forces Outsmart Russian Electronic Warfare with FPV Drones

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com March 3, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have learned to change drone frequencies in such a way that Russian electronic warfare systems often become ineffective.

Russian military propagandists complain about the increased number and effectiveness of FPV drones used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Z-Telegram channel “Two Majors” reports that Ukrainian troops are successfully and more actively using drones at the front.

The main problem that propagandists say the Russian military faces is the ability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to quickly change drone frequencies. This makes the electronic warfare (EW) systems that Russia uses to neutralize drones ineffective.

“FPV drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine pose a huge problem along the entire front,” writes channel Z.

At the same time, the Russian bureaucratic system does not allow it to quickly respond to new challenges. Bulky and clumsy, it is not capable of providing flexible and rapid changes in electronic warfare production technology to counter the “Ukrainian carousel” of FPV drones.

FPV drones (First Person View) are drones equipped with cameras that broadcast video in real time to the operator’s glasses. This allows the operator to control the drone from a first-person perspective, which greatly improves the accuracy and efficiency of its use.

In recent months, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been actively using FPV drones for reconnaissance, adjusting artillery fire, and also for attacks on Russian positions. Experts note that these drones have become one of the most important factors influencing the course of hostilities.

The enemy is already changing frequencies and ordering industrial production from foreign factories with this changed parameter, that is, our electronic warfare is no longer always effective against them. Our well-known project for the production of such kamikaze UAVs, due to its organizational and legal form and corresponding bulkiness, can hardly afford this. It is necessary to diversify production, incl. by attracting front-line workshops, of which there are already a huge number.

Previously, Forbes found out how many FPV drones have been manufactured in Ukraine since the beginning of 2024.

Ukrainian Forces Hold Back Russian Advance in Bakhmut Region, Intensified Assaults Reported at the Front

“In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy is advancing, hovering around the settlements of Ivanovskoye and Bogdanovka. The enemy is already conducting military operations within the city. He is actively bringing reserves and heavy equipment there. He is striking with drones,” he noted.

Yevlash added that Ukrainian forces are holding back the enemy’s advance.

According to him, the invaders want to develop an offensive on Chasov Yar and capture it.

According to Yevlash, fortifications and several defense circles were built near Chasovoy Yar. Minefields, both anti-tank and anti-personnel, were also laid out in threatening directions.

Situation at the front

Now the Russian occupiers have intensified their assaults on the front. In particular, the Russians captured Avdeevka and neighboring villages. But the Defense Forces drove the enemy out of Orlovka and Krasnohorivka in eastern Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces predict that spring weather will affect the front, in particular flooding trenches and slowing down equipment. However, the Defense Forces believe that this time can be used to strengthen the defense.

Russian Forces Attack and Defeated in Krasnogorovka by Ukrainian Troops: Latest Updates

The military noted that the day before, Russian army forces attacked the south-eastern part of Krasnogorovka and entered the city.

In order to prevent the enemy from gaining a foothold, units of the Third Separate Assault Brigade and assault battalions carried out a combat operation to clear the city of enemy forces.

Losses of the occupiers

“In a short period of time, the enemy managed to prepare for a long-term defense and despite resistance and heavy fighting, the brigade’s assault groups inflicted inevitable losses on the enemy – about 100 occupiers of the 200s and 300s,” the brigade reported.

The military also reported that the Russians refused to surrender and were liquidated in the houses they occupied.

“As of now, Krasnohorivka is under the control of Ukrainian troops,” summed up the third assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The situation near Avdeevka and Marinka

Earlier, messages appeared on social networks that the occupiers had advanced to the outskirts of Krasnogorovka and even began to gradually enter it.

The Institute for the Study of War reported that Russian troops are trying to exploit the tactical opportunities created by the capture of Avdiivka and maintain a relatively fast pace of offensive operations before Ukrainian troops establish more cohesive and difficult to navigate defensive lines in the area.

Representative of the Tauride Defense Forces Dmitry Likhovy stated that Ukrainian soldiers continue the defensive operation near Avdeevka. This is facilitated by the terrain, in particular, the cascade of reservoirs in the area of the settlements of Tonenkoye, Orlovka and Berdychi.
