Jakarta – Google officially launched a new icon for the Gemini application on Android and iPhone devices this week. The icon now carries four typical colors of Google: blue, red, yellow, and green. The color makes it in harmony with other Google application icons such as Gmail, Drive, and Photos.
This latest icon design is still dominated by blue on the right side, with other parts filled with red, yellow and green. On the middle of the middle, there is a fine gradation that resembles the current “G” Google logo display. The four points on this icon are now rounded up, no longer pointed as before, creating a more friendly and more modern impression.
In addition, the size of the icon is now slightly bigger and fills more areas in the white circle of the background, making it easier to recognize on the mobile home screen.
Google calls this change as a form of unification of Gemini visual identity into the Google application ecosystem as a whole. Although the shape of the icon resembles “sparkle“Or splashing light, the design is quite unique so it is not easily exchanged with other Google applications.
Widget Update on Android
On Android, Google also made changes to the Gemini Home screen widget. In addition to the new icon, there is now a direct shortcut to the video and screenenshare feature, which is connected to Gemini Live mode. This feature allows users to quickly start a video conversation or share screen.
Overall, the widget layout is now simpler, with a adjusted number of shortcuts depending on the size of the widget. For sizes 3 ร 3 and above, the user will find eight main shortcuts: Open the application (with an active keyboard), sound input, camera, gallery, file, video, screenshare, and live.
Meanwhile, the “Ask Gemini” column was changed to only the “Gemini” bar, without dynamic background as before.
The latest version and chat search features
For Android, the latest version is 1.0.776555963 and is already widely available on the Google Play Store.
In iOS, version 1,2025.2562103 was launched on Wednesday, with the addition of search features in a history of conversation. Users simply tap the chat icon in the upper left corner to access the search column – this feature is not yet available on Android.
Now, users are still waiting for the application of the new Gemini icon on the Gemini.google.com website, which is expected to soon follow.
With this update, Google reiterates its commitment to present AI experience that is more integrated and easily accessed throughout the platform.
