A fire broke out at the Mäntymäki garden in Turku’s Huiskulantie late on Friday, which could have had serious consequences.

A fire broke out in the boiler room at the other end of the greenhouse property for an unknown reason. Above the boiler room is an apartment where two people were at the time of the fire.

The people who were sleeping had woken up thanks to the fire alarm. There was a smell of smoke in the apartment, so they informed the emergency center and left the apartment. The fire had not yet spread to the apartment at this stage.

The persons examined by the first aid were slightly exposed to smoke.

The fire quickly grew strong, because fuel oil was used as fuel in the boiler room.
