Chung-Ang University Forges International Ties to Lead in Metaverse & ICT
Chung-Ang University is actively positioning itself as a global leader in advanced Data and Interaction Technology (ICT) and the metaverse, focusing on building strong international collaborations to establish a thriving virtual convergence economy ecosystem.
The university recently hosted the “2025 Global Virtual Convergence Economy Conference” in Hanoi,Vietnam,on November 19th,in partnership with the Realistic Media Innovation Convergence College Project Group,the Virtual Convergence College,and the Content Future Convergence Forum. The conference aimed to share insights into emerging technologies – including realistic media, the virtual convergence economy, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse – and to cultivate a robust global network centered around Korea and vietnam.
The event kicked off with welcoming remarks from Wi Jung-hyun, Chairperson of the Virtual Convergence Economy Forum, followed by a keynote address from Lee Eun-kyu, Science and Technology Attaché at the Korean Embassy in Vietnam. Lee outlined Korea’s strategic direction for Artificial Intelligence development.
Ha Thi Hong Van, Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics and world Economy at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, presented on the progress and challenges facing Vietnam’s digital economy, highlighting the potential benefits of strengthened collaboration between the two nations. Wi Jung-hyun further elaborated on collaborative opportunities in a presentation focusing on “Korea-Vietnam Cooperation Strategies Through the Integration of virtual Convergence and the Artificial Intelligence industry.”
The afternoon sessions featured a diverse range of expert presentations. Professor Ko Hye-young of Seoul Women’s University showcased “Prosocial Game Project Education for Social Innovation,” while Acting Secretary General Le Toan Thanh provided an analysis of “Vietnam’s Startup Ecosystem.” Professor Kang Sin-jin of Hongik University discussed evolving collaboration structures in game development within the age of AI, and Professor Kim Kyuhyun of Chung-Ang University presented case studies on technological convergence across various industries, specifically focusing on “Artificial Intelligence and Animation.” Kim Yong-tae, Branch Manager of Letuin Edu, explored “The effectiveness of EdTech in Advanced Manufacturing Education,” and Professor Won Eun-seok of Mokwon University concluded the conference with a discussion on “Stablecoins and Digital Content Services.”
Chung-Ang University believes the conference considerably strengthened ties between universities, companies, and research institutions both domestically and internationally, creating a solid foundation for future business ventures in the virtual convergence economy.
“This conference represents a pivotal moment in establishing a collaborative framework for the virtual convergence industry between Korea and Vietnam,” stated Wi Jung-hyun. “By leveraging the combined technological and industrial strengths of both countries, we can jointly develop innovative technologies and services that are globally competitive.”
Looking ahead, Chung-Ang University is committed to expanding its cooperative platforms and forging further global partnerships to nurture the growth of the international virtual convergence economy ecosystem.
