The december full moon is traditionally called the Beaver Moon,โฃ a โฃnameโค originating from Native American tribes who used โthis time of yearโค to set beaver traps before the rivers โขfroze over. in 2025, it will also qualify as a supermoon, appearing larger and brighter than usualโฃ as ofโ its closer proximity to Earth in its orbit.โ Supermoons occur when the full moon โขcoincides withโ the moon’sโฃ closest approach to Earth,aโ point known as โฃperigee.
