This prequel explores Mine’s origins and his path into the criminal underworld, detailing his rise through the ranks of the Nishikiyama family and his eventual loyalty to Daigo Dojima. While the story is concise, it provides valuable context to Mine’s motivations. The content primarily consists of smaller, reputation-building quests within Kamurocho, such as item retrieval and crane game challenges. Players must complete the main Kiwami 3 storyline before accessing Dark Ties to avoid spoilers.
Mine’s combat style differs from Kiryu’s, emphasizing speed and agility reminiscent of mixed martial arts. He utilizes quick combos and a “Dark Awakening” mechanic to enhance Heat Gauge attacks, offering a distinct and engaging combat experience.
