System of a Down expands Rose Bowl residency to four nights in 2027
System of a Down expanded its lone planned North American performance of 2027 into a four-night residency at the 65,000-capacity Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, adding dates on June 6, 10, and 12 to the originally scheduled June 5 concert, spinmagazine.com reported.
Expanding the Rose Bowl Residency
The newly announced June 12 date rounds out a four-show stadium run that follows the band’s two-night visit to the 24,000-capacity BMO Stadium in Los Angeles in 2022. According to Pollstar News, Live Nation and 30e are promoting the stadium stand. Tickets for the final night go on sale October 27 at noon local time at Ticketmaster.com. The Rose Bowl is located about eight miles from the band’s hometown of Glendale.
Support acts vary across the four nights. Pierce the Veil will open the first two shows on June 5 and June 6. French hard rock band Gojira will support the final two performances on June 10 and June 12, as reported by spinmagazine.com and Pollstar News.

Stadium Dates Include South America, Australia and New Zealand
The Pasadena engagement follows five previously announced stadium dates in South America, Australia, and New Zealand. Those international shows are booked in conjunction with Brazilian promoter 30e, with Faith No More opening each date. The upcoming schedule includes:

System of a Down spent the previous summer playing European stadiums and recently headlined the Sick New World festival in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. According to Pollstar News, the group grossed $19,719,544 from 145,059 tickets sold across two nights at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, alongside performances at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros. The alternative metal group is booked by Creative Artists Agency and managed by David “Beno” Benveniste of Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group.
Band Members Restore Their Personal Friendships
The band celebrated the 25th anniversary of its album Toxicity and hosted an exhibition called Beyond the Streets in Los Angeles featuring artifacts from that era. Guitarist Daron Malakian told spinmagazine.com that internal relationships have improved.
The friendships in the band are really strong right now. We get together, we have dinner. Shavo and I went to a hockey game together last week. Serj and I are in touch on the telephone every other week. That hasn’t happened in 20 years. We go to dinner together with the wives. Forget about the band. The friendship is back, and the friendship being back is making us enjoy the band.
