Switch Online GBA App Update: Button Remapping & 1080p Resolution

nintendo Switch Online’s GBA app received a major update today, version‍ 3.0.0, introducing highly requested features for enhanced⁣ gameplay. ⁢The update, detailed‍ on Reddit (r/NintendoSwitch2), brings button remapping functionality to the app, ⁣allowing players to customize controls for individual games. ⁣This follows the recent addition of button mapping to the Nintendo Classics⁤ SNES app.

Players can now enjoy a visual upgrade as well, with the app now supporting 1080p resolution when playing ⁣in handheld mode.

The‍ update also includes cosmetic changes, such ⁤as ‌a rebrand to “Nintendo Classics” and a new boot sound – the coin sound from Mario Advance – accompanied by a GameCube-style startup animation triggered by⁣ a stick tilt.

Regarding game availability, Magical Vacation has been added to the Nintendo Classics GBA app, ​but currently only for⁣ players in Japan. North American and European players ⁣can now access⁤ Forsaken 64 on the Nintendo 64 app (NintendoEverything).
