Switch 2 Zelda 40th Anniversary resale prices reach $850 on eBay
The Nintendo Switch 2 special edition celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Legend carries an official international price of 519.99 dollars, but pre-launch resale listings on eBay have reached between 700 and 850 dollars, according to figures detailed by Sin Embargo.
The limited console features green and gold accents inspired by the franchise alongside a dock marked with the Trifuerza symbol. Nintendo also prepared a matching Pro Controller. Before the hardware’s scheduled October 29, 2026 release date, secondary platforms recorded surging prices driven by high demand and limited availability.
Resale Pricing Across International Platforms
On eBay, secondary market transactions for the special edition console prior to its release routinely hit between 700 and 850 dollars, with specific sales reaching approximately 845.99 dollars. The trend proved even more volatile for peripherals. The Pro Controller, launched at 99.99 dollars, traded on digital marketplaces between 150 and 175 dollars for units without a base. On Vinted, some vendors listed controllers near 460 dollars, drawing from European offers around 400 euros, while the console itself appeared on that platform for roughly 750 dollars. Some listings on Mercado Libre Mexico reached 22,999 pesos, though such asking prices simply reflect what individual sellers request rather than guaranteed transactions. In Mexico, Bodega Aurrerá offered the special edition console for 14,499 pesos with three months without interest, charging orders upon purchase completion alongside free home delivery or store pickup options.

Walmart Cancels Pre-Orders as Nintendo Schedules Restocks
Launch operations faced widespread logistical hurdles. Walmart canceled numerous pre-orders shortly before the release date, prompting the retailer to issue compensation emails giving affected customers 48 hours to secure a replacement alongside a 519-dollar gift card matching the console’s retail cost, as reported by Nintenderos. Meanwhile, Nintendo Australia announced that the Zelda-themed Pro Controller with its included stand would reopen for pre-orders on October 27, with shipments slated to begin on February 4, 2027. Beyond the hardware, Nintendo scheduled Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake for November 5, 2026, alongside two new amiibo figures planned for 2027.
