Nintendo Switch 2 Receives October 2025 Backwards compatibility Update
October 2025 – Nintendo has released a new wave of backwards compatibility fixes for Nintendo Switch 1 games running on the Switch 2 console. The update, arriving alongside a recent system firmware update focused on overall stability improvements, addresses issues in five titles.
The following Nintendo Switch 1 games received fixes in the October 2025 update:
* Deemo Reborn
* Library of Ruina
* Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025
* Ultra Age
* Warframe
This represents the smallest number of fixes delivered in a single update to date. Nintendo is also actively investigating reported issues wiht several othre titles, including Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, which the company has acknowledged requires a patch.
Currently recognized problem areas for other games include:
* jelly Troops – Unsupported due to issues with game progression.
* Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning - Potential graphics problems in certain areas (game progression issues were addressed in a prior update).
* Mugen Souls – Items may not display correctly in some instances.
* Subway Simulator 2025: City Train – Animations may not play as intended in specific sections.
* Transistor – Game functionality may be disrupted when the console is docked or undocked during gameplay.
