Hawks Finish sixth at Ron Stonitsch Invitational
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The SUNY New Paltz cross country teams competed at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational on Saturday, with the women finishing sixth overall and the men showcasing a strong individual performance. The Hawks will continue their season next weekend at the Fred Pavlich Invitational.
The women’s team was led by Orquidea Bricheno, who completed the course in 21:15.1 for a 39th-place finish. Lillian Stephenson followed closely behind in 41st place with a time of 21:18.7, while Kate Turner (22:28.4) and Alexandra Swink (22:47.5, a personal best) rounded out the scoring five in 61st and 64th place, respectively. Ava nargentino (23:18.7, a personal best) and Adelyn Ameigh-Coggen (23:39.4) served as the team’s displacers, finishing 42nd and 46th.
On the men’s side, Oliver Melara-Perez earned a top-20 award with his 17th-place finish.
the cross country teams will return to action next Saturday, September 20, at the Fred pavlich Invitational hosted by Bard College at Historic Montgomery place in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
