Sung Si-kyung Resumes YouTube Content Following Financial Betrayal by Longtime Manager
Singer Sung Si-kyung has returned to YouTube, signaling a return to normalcy after a tumultuous period marked by financial misconduct from his former manager of over a decade. The resumption of his popular content comes approximately two weeks after news broke of the betrayal, which deeply impacted both the artist and his fanbase.
The revelation that a trusted figure had abused their position overseeing performances, advertisements, and events caused widespread sadness among Si-kyung’s supporters. His agency, SK Jaewon, confirmed the former manager’s actions ”undermined the trust of the company” and is currently assessing the full extent of the financial damage, while together implementing safeguards to prevent future incidents. Si-kyung himself publicly shared the emotional toll, describing the betrayal as “an unbearable experience” that affected his well-being despite maintaining his public schedule.
Following a brief hiatus, Si-kyung announced his return with a plan for three new YouTube videos this week, including cooking content and a demonstration of a sauce featured during his recent Japanese concert. He expressed the difficulty of appearing composed while privately grappling with the situation, stating via social media, “I pretended to be okay while juggling YouTube and performance schedules, but my body and mind were hurt a lot.”
Fans will also have the prospect to see Si-kyung perform live at his year-end concert series at KSPO DOME in Seoul Olympic Park, scheduled for December 25th through 28th.
