‘Strictly‘ Pro Nikita Kuzmin Expresses disappointment Following Dani Dyer‘s Ankle Fracture and Exit
Professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin has responded with sadness after his Strictly Come dancing celebrity partner, Dani Dyer, was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a fractured ankle. Dyer sustained the injury during rehearsals last week, confirmed by an MRI scan, making continued participation “not advisable” according to doctors.
The withdrawal comes just days before the live shows are set to begin on Saturday, September 27th, presenting a challenge for the show’s producers. Dyer’s departure marks the second contestant exit this season, following Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn’s withdrawal last month due to medical reasons. nairn was subsequently replaced by Emmerdale star Lewis cope.
“Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable, and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance, so I’ve had to pull out of the show,” Dyer explained in a statement. “To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.” She also expressed regret about missing time with Kuzmin.
Kuzmin has yet to comment publicly beyond acknowledging Dyer’s statement on Instagram. The show’s producers have not yet announced whether Dyer will be replaced, but given the imminent start of the live shows, a replacement appears unlikely at this late stage. Strictly Come Dancing will proceed with the remaining couples when the live shows launch this saturday.
