Story Care®: Preserving Life’s Legacy for Patients with Limited Life Expectancy
Hamburg, Germany – The Stiftung Mammazentrum Hamburg has launched Story Care®, a new initiative offering patients facing a limited life expectancy the opportunity to record their personal memories and messages for loved ones, guided by trained professionals.
While advancements in medicine mean early breast cancer is now curable in approximately 80 percent of cases, the program recognizes the vital need to support those with a more limited prognosis. Story Care® provides a safe and loving space for patients to document their life stories and ensure their legacy endures.
through thoughtful conversations with a dedicated and trained companion, patients are encouraged to reflect on significant moments in their lives, recognizing the impact they’ve had and the traces they will leave behind. The program aims to foster a sense of peace and meaning during a challenging time.
Interested individuals can inquire about Story Care® accompaniment by contacting Breast Care Nurse Ms. Lübbersmeyer at luebbersmeyer@stiftung-mammazentrum.de or by emailing “story nurse” Sabrina Görlitz at sabrina@storycare.de.
