St. Vitus Cathedral Organs to Feature Iva Bartoš’s Winning Composition
Prague’s St. Vitus Cathedral unveiled new crystal organ pipes, funded by over 5,000 donors, including a school, following Iva Bartoš’s winning composition. The event highlights civic engagement and cultural preservation. The pipes, installed in the 14th-century cathedral, will debut with Bartoš’s “Fantazie na svatováclavský chorál,” a piece chosen by public vote. The project, which raised €2.3 million through a crowdfunding campaign, marks a significant milestone in Prague’s cultural infrastructure. Local officials emphasized the initiative’s role in sustaining heritage while adapting to modern acoustic demands.
