St. Pete Public Art Exhibit Highlights City’s Artistic History

St. Petersburg Arts Scene Heats Up with New Exhibitions and Performances

St. Petersburg, FL – A diverse range of artistic experiences are set to unfold across St. Petersburg’s ‍galleries and theaters this October, from⁤ photography exploring urban landscapes to immersive ancient plays and vibrant contemporary art.

The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art will host “Ben Steele: A POP ⁤of Art!” beginning October 11, showcasing ten⁣ paintings​ from the personal collection of ⁣Tom and Mary⁣ James.Concurrently, the Imagine museum will present “Frames of Legacy: The Artifacts Behind Animation & Storytelling” ‌from October 17-19, celebrating the anniversaries of both the Walt Disney Company ⁤and C.S. lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia ⁢with family-kind activities.Meanwhile, American Stage’s second annual walk-through play,‍ Weird in St. Pete, returns october 2-19, this year staged within the Duncan McClellan Gallery in the Warehouse Arts District. These events underscore ⁢St. Petersburg’s growing reputation as a regional hub for arts and culture, ⁤offering opportunities⁢ for both residents and visitors ⁤to engage with ⁣a wide spectrum of creative expression.

Exhibition Highlights:

* ⁣ The Shooters we certainly know: BASK (Ales Hostomsky) curated this exhibition featuring ⁢works‌ by street art photographers Sal Rodriguez, Jeremy⁤ Deputat, Greg Bryon, Joey Clay, Tobin Green, Giancarlo Giusti, Amy Martz, Chloe Reyes and Joe walles.
* ​ Ben Steele: A POP ​of Art!: opens October ‌11 at the James Museum of Western ⁤& Wildlife Art, ‌featuring⁣ 10 ⁤paintings by the Utah-based contemporary ⁣artist. The James Museum will also ⁢offer free‍ admission on October 13 ‌for Indigenous People Day.
* Frames of Legacy: Arriving at the ⁣Imagine Museum ‌October 17-19, this exhibit showcases artifacts, archival documents, and original film props from the Orlando Museum‌ Walt’s Secret Closet. Activities include shield and crown making, costume parades (with free admission for children in costume), and interactive storytelling games.
