Spectacular Mini Car Event Arrives in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin
The city of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin is preparing to host a competition featuring radio-controlled vehicles at the Tourlaville Mini Bolides (TMB) track. The event is set to bring together enthusiasts of the discipline, utilizing the facility’s specialized infrastructure located on the Rte de la Lande Saint-Gabriel.
The TMB track, which serves as the venue for the upcoming gathering, features an outdoor asphalt surface designed for various scales of remote-controlled cars, including Mini-Z, 1/10, 1/8, and 1/5 models. The circuit spans 303 meters in length with a width of 5.30 meters. To manage technical sections and high-speed straightaways, the course is equipped with nautical ropes and wooden barriers to ensure safety and track definition.
Recent infrastructure upgrades at the site have focused on the track surface, which was repaved to improve drainage during inclement weather conditions. These technical specifications are intended to accommodate the precision required for the radio-controlled racing community.
The organizing committee has scheduled the event to highlight the capabilities of the track, which is situated within the Normandy region. Participants are expected to arrive at the facility to navigate the technical layout, which has been established to support both competitive and recreational radio-controlled vehicle operation.
While the track remains a focal point for local hobbyists, the upcoming event serves as an opportunity to test the drainage and handling characteristics of the newly laid asphalt under competitive pressure. Organizers have yet to confirm the full roster of participants or the specific categories for the weekend’s racing schedule.
