São Paulo, Brazil - Spaten Fight Night 2 delivered a night of combat sports action from ARCA Spaces in São Paulo on Saturday, headlined by a boxing exhibition featuring UFC legend Wanderlei Silva against former boxing champion Acelino Freitas. The card also featured a compelling MMA bout and several professional boxing matches.
Silva, 49, returned to competition for the first time since his knockout loss to Rampage Jackson at Bellator 260 in September 2018.While past his prime in mixed martial arts, the “Axe Murderer” tested his skills in the boxing ring against Freitas, 50, a decorated boxer boasting a 41-2 professional record. Freitas entered the exhibition with a 5-0-1 record in similar contests, having most recently defeated Brazilian actor Duda Nagle by decision in May.
The evening wasn’t solely focused on the exhibition bout. A single MMA contest showcased the talents of regional champions Thiago Silva and Wanderson Barcellos in a lightweight clash.
