CARBONDALE, Ill. – Four Southern Illinois University Carbondale volleyball players - Ceci Bulmahn, Eva Krakowski, Emma Lade, and Jillian shaneyfelt - have been recognized as Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Scholar-Athletes, the conference announced today.The honor celebrates their combined excellence on the court and in the classroom.
The Salukis‘ academic achievements underscore a program tradition of high academic standards,according to Head Coach Brittany Harry. “We are proud of Ceci, Eva, Emma, and Jillian for earning recognition on the MVC Scholar Athlete team,” Harry said. ”SIU volleyball has a long history of being high-achieving in the classroom and it is indeed something we emphasize everyday in our program.”
Bulmahn, a Communication Studies major with a 3.6 GPA, completed her Saluki career ranking fourth in program history with 1,414 digs and finished the 2025 season sixth in the MVC with 31 service aces and ninth with 341 digs.Krakowski, majoring in Art with a perfect 4.0 GPA, recorded 100 kills and 89 blocks in 2025, including a season-high 10 blocks in a four-set match at Murray State on September 26.
Lade, a biological sciences major with a 3.62 GPA and a transfer from Texas A&M International, led the Salukis with 790 assists in 2025, ranking second in the MVC, and added 34 service aces, fourth in the conference. Shaneyfelt,a mathematics major maintaining a 3.82 GPA, paced Southern Illinois defensively with 484 digs, ranking fourth in The Valley, and was named the MVC’s Defensive Player of the Week on October 20 after a career-high 28 digs at Bradley.
“These four ladies have represented Saluki volleyball on and off the court this season in a way that reflects our program’s values and we are proud of their accomplishment in the classroom,” Harry added.
