Smoke Near US Embassy in Kuwait – Reports & Updates

by Emma Walker – News Editor

Smoke was observed rising from the U.S. Embassy compound in Kuwait City on Monday, according to reports from Al Arabiya and confirmed by an AFP correspondent. The incident occurred amid a broader exchange involving missile and drone launches attributed to Iran, targeting locations in the region, including Kuwait, Dubai, and Bahrain, as reported by Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hadath channel.

Witnesses also reported seeing smoke over a Kuwaiti neighborhood where the U.S. Embassy is located, prompting advisories to American citizens to avoid the area, according to the Associated Press. The reports of smoke near the embassy coincide with a wider escalation of conflict, described as including actions by Iranian-backed militias and retaliatory strikes by Israeli and American forces within Iran.

Al Arabiya’s reporting, based on its sources, also indicated smoke near the Al-Jafair area in Bahrain and explosions in Dubai. The U.S. State Department has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the situation in Kuwait, and the extent of any damage to the embassy compound remains unconfirmed.

Eyewitness footage circulating on social media, posted by CNN News18, appears to show smoke in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait City. The timing of these events suggests a direct connection to Iran’s recent missile and drone activity, though no specific claim of responsibility for the smoke near the embassy has been made.
