Skydance: Jon Stewart to host The Daily Show Mondays through 2028
Comedian Jon Stewart will continue through 2028 as an executive producer and Monday host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, as announced by Skydance Television on Monday, according to a Reuters report.
Monday Hosting Duties and Production Extension Through 2028
The agreement locks in Stewart’s presence on the Emmy-winning late-night program for the next several years. Skydance Television co-chair and chief content officer George Cheeks said in a statement that the company is excited to continue the partnership with Stewart and his news team, according to Reuters. The program airs on Comedy Central and streams on Paramount+ the following day.
Stewart originally hosted the satirical news program from 1999 to 2015 before returning as a weekly host in 2024. Following his departure in 2015, Trevor Noah hosted the show until 2022. The program operated without a permanent host throughout 2023, utilizing a rotating lineup of guest hosts that included Leslie Jones, Michael Kosta, and Chelsea Handler. Craig Kilborn led the program from 1996 to 1998.
Correspondents Rotate as Hosts from Tuesday Through Thursday
As Reuters reported, contributors and correspondents Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, and Michael Kosta will keep alternating hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday while Stewart takes charge of the Monday broadcasts. The program relies on mock news segments and interviews with journalists, celebrities, and other guests.

Comedy Central is owned by Skydance Media, which completed its merger with Paramount Global earlier in the year and adopted the name Skydance Corp.
