By late morning on July 27, water was observed being pumped out of the sinkhole, indicating preparations for the extraction of the vehicle that had fallen into it. The incident prompted concerns among some residents regarding the impact of ongoing construction works for the Thomson-East Coast line on ground stability.

Mr. Tommy Lim,a 47-year-old sales manager, expressed his hope that this would be an isolated event and that authorities would conduct thorough investigations to prevent future occurrences.
