Tribeca Native Sienna Spektor Lands Grinch Role, eyes broadway
NEW YORK, NY – Sienna Spektor, a Tribeca-raised actress who began her stage career at age five, is currently captivating audiences as the grinch in a recent production, marking a significant step in her burgeoning acting career. The young performer’s journey, from local children’s theater to off-off-Broadway and film roles, highlights the vibrant arts community nurtured in Lower Manhattan and the dedication required to pursue a passion on stage and screen.
Spektor’s early involvement in the performing arts began at Spotlight Kids in Tribeca, where she first appeared as the Wicked Witch of the West in “The Wizard of Oz” and later as Wendy in “Peter Pan.” This initial exposure ignited a lifelong passion, leading to roles such as James in “James and the Giant Peach” at NEST on the Lower East Side and securing an agent by age eight. Her commitment demonstrates the growing opportunities for young talent in New york City and the increasing number of children pursuing professional acting careers alongside their education.
“It’s been a passion of mine for a really long time,” Spektor shared.”I just love this so much. I love to dance, sing, act – plus it’s a community wiht all the actors and I love being on stage. I love to share the shows with the audience.”
Spektor’s resume includes the title role in an off-off-Broadway production of ”Matilda“ and a role in the upcoming film “The Hare,” currently in post-production. Looking ahead, she expressed aspirations to perform in “Annie” and a potential Broadway adaptation of “stranger Things,” drawn to the show’s unique and thrilling nature.
