Sergio Perez will drive a Ferrari Formula 1 car once more next month, but not in a racing capacity. The Red Bull Racing driver is scheduled to test a 2012-era ferrari F1 car at Florida’s sebring International Raceway as part of preparations for Cadillac‘s planned entry into Formula 1 in 2028.
This test marks a return to Ferrari machinery for Perez, who previously drove for the Scuderia’s driver advancement program in 2011, completing tests at Fiorano. The upcoming test is crucial for Cadillac as they continue to develop their powertrain and familiarize themselves with the demands of Formula 1, utilizing Perez’s extensive experience to gather valuable data. The test is being conducted as part of a permitted testing day for current F1 drivers outside of their contracted teams. Cadillac will be partnering with Andretti Global for their F1 venture.
