Serbian Basketball Team: Jokich, NBA Candidates for European Championship

Serbia Names Strong Squad for European Championship,Lead by NBA Stars

Belgrade,Serbia – Teh Serbian national basketball team has announced its preliminary roster for the upcoming European Championship,featuring a formidable lineup of talent including NBA stars Nikola Jokic and Bogdan Bogdanovic. The team’s training camp commenced Monday in Belgrade, signaling the start of their readiness for the continental tournament.

The extensive candidate list includes 11 players who earned a Bronze medal in Paris, highlighting the team’s depth and experience. Among the notable names are vasilije Micić, Aleksa Avramović, Bogdan Bogdanović, Marko Gudurić, Vanja Marinković, Ognjen Dobrić, Dejan davidovac, Filip Petrušev, Stefan Jović, and Nikola milutinov. Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to be key contributors.

Head coach Svetislav Pešić will be supported by a coaching staff comprising Oliver Kostić,Ognjen Stojaković,Marko Marinović,Nenad Jakovljević,and Mihailo Mitić. The physical preparation will be overseen by Marko sekulić, Marko Stanojević, Fedja Sretenović, and Stefan.

The Serbian squad will engage in a series of preparatory matches. On August 5th and 6th, they will face Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland in Belgrade.Prior to the European Championship, Serbia is scheduled to participate in two test tournaments. From August 9th to 10th, they will compete against Greece and Israel in Cyprus. Subsequently, from August 15th to 16th, their opponents will include Germany, Turkey, and the Czech Republic. The final preparatory game is slated for August 21st against slovenia in Belgrade.

Serbia has been drawn into Group A for the european Championship, where they will compete against Latvia, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Estonia, and Portugal in Riga.

The European Championship Finals will feature 24 teams divided into four groups, with games taking place in Riga, Tampere, Katowice, and Limassol from late August to early September. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, which will be held in Riga, culminating in the determination of the medal winners in the first half of September.
