Seoul Accelerates AI & FinTech Drive to Cement top 10 Global Financial Hub Status
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – Seoul is aggressively expanding its capabilities in Artificial Intelligence adn Financial Technology, aiming to solidify its position as a leading global financial center. The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG), a member of Z/YenS Vantage Financial Centres network, today released an update detailing ongoing initiatives to attract investment and foster innovation in these key sectors.
Currently ranked among the world’s top 10 financial cities according to various indices, Seoul views global financial companies as crucial partners in its continued growth, offering incentives such as financial support for relocation to the International Finance Center (IFC).
The SMG’s strategy centers on several core pillars: establishing Seoul as a “Global AI Innovation Leading City,” developing specialized facilities, and cultivating a skilled talent pool. Key facilities include the Seoul fintech Lab and Seoul fintech Lab 2, designed to support FinTech progress.
Talent development programs are also a priority, with the launch of a Graduate School of Digital Finance and the Seoul Fintech Academy. the city is actively promoting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) through a range of incentives.
Seoul is also strengthening its overall Financial Hub infrastructure and preparing to host two major events in 2025: the Seoul investors Forum 2025 and seoul Fintech Week 2025.The SMG encourages interested parties to explore investment and development opportunities in the Asian market.
