Seoul Buddhist Graduate School Hosts ‘Today’s Buddha‘ Fall Festival Focused on Mindful Healing
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – Seoul Buddhist graduate School is hosting ‘Today’s Buddha,’ a fall festival designed to explore the intersection of Buddhist principles, mindful practices, and modern healing modalities. The event, currently underway, offers a diverse program of workshops, lectures, and performances aimed at students and the wider community.
The festival underscores a growing national interest in holistic well-being and the integration of ancient wisdom with contemporary therapeutic techniques. Seoul Buddhist Graduate school positions itself at the forefront of this movement, training “integrated healing talents who practice wisdom and compassion,” according to the university. The event provides a platform for students across disciplines – from Buddhism and meditation to counseling psychology and brain & cognitive science – to showcase their work and deepen their understanding of mindful healing.
‘Today’s Buddha’ features a wide array of experiential offerings tailored to specific majors. Students of Buddhism and meditation can participate in ‘Love Tea Meditation’ and ‘Singing Bowl meditation,’ while those in transpersonal counseling can explore ‘Crystal Purification Experience’ and ‘Unconscious Mind through Hypnosis.’ Counseling psychology majors have access to a ‘Writing Photo Studio,’ brain and cognitive science students can engage in ‘Left Brain and Right Brain Brain Wave Measurement,’ and integrated healing majors can experience ‘body Soom Mom.’ Creative expression is also highlighted with workshops like ‘Mandala Keyring Making’ and ‘Eco Bag Decorating Experience’ for art therapy students,and ‘My Ring Yoga Experience’ and ‘Chakra Yoga Meditation’ for yoga therapy majors.
Notably, the festival includes a tai Chi experience led by Director Jeong Won-seok, continuing the tradition of the practice, and a special lecture on ‘Exploring awareness’ by Dr.Hee-young Ahn, a leading figure in Korean MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction).
The festival will culminate in a student talent showcase, ”King of Liberation Singer,” offering a vibrant display of passion and skill from across the university’s diverse student body.
