A cornerstone of CPTS Alaric’s strategy is the implementation of the ICOP program,a World Health Association (WHO) initiative designed to mitigate the risk of dependency among the elderly. In collaboration with the Communal Center for Social Action (CCAS), nurses are conducting regular health assessments, offering two to three monthly sessions to evaluate seniors’ well-being and guide them toward appropriate care pathways.
Furthermore, CPTS Alaric is facilitating a series of eight themed workshops led by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychologists, psychomotor therapists, speech therapists, and dietitians. These sessions focus on improving motor skills and memory, while also fostering social connections among participants, who have consistently praised the quality of the programs.
Broad-Spectrum Health Actions Underway
The partnership has already yielded significant community health actions. these include early diabetes screening through capillary blood glucose testing and the establishment of “parents’ cafes” that address topics such as screen time management. In May, the Trèbes multi-site health center, MSP, in conjunction with the city, organized awareness campaigns and provided facts on vaccinations. Additionally, the MSP Le caduée, working with the municipal police, conducted sessions at the CCAS to educate residents on the adverse effects of drug use and the dangers of driving under the influence.
During the Floralies school fair in June, a dedicated prevention stand engaged children in activities focused on nutrition and physical activity. These interactive sessions were led by a team of dietitians, a nurse, a physiotherapist, and a podiatrist.
Mobilizing Against Cancer
The fight against cancer is a key focus, with the city, healthcare providers, local associations, and the League Against cancer actively involved. Each October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a prevention stand offers information on breast and cervical cancers. This initiative will continue this year, with events scheduled for Sunday,October 5,featuring sports and cultural activities. A significant upcoming event is the arrival of the mammobile on Thursday, September 4. In partnership with the APM 09 association, the mobile unit will offer mammograms in the Arènes parking lot, with appointments available via Doctolib.
Ongoing dialog between healthcare stakeholders and citizens is crucial for effective prevention. On September 12, CPTS Alaric will join forces with the senior space and Agirc-Arrco at the House of Associations and the Family (MAF) parking lot to discuss daily preventative health practices. This collaborative model underscores the power of local synergy in sustainably enhancing the quality of life for residents.
