Selma Blair reportedly attacked flight attendants on Delta Airlines plane
Selma Blair detained by crew after Delta flight altercation
Actress Selma Blair was hospitalized following an incident aboard a Delta Airlines flight, Novinky reported.
The incident unfolded at 23:00 local time on a flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Initial reports suggested the actress attempted to open an aircraft door during the flight, but that claim was not confirmed by subsequent accounts. According to CBS News, Blair attacked two flight attendants and was restrained by the crew before the plane landed.
Injuries and medical transport at JFK Airport
The aircraft pilot requested medical personnel to meet the flight upon landing at JFK Airport. The pilot reported to the control tower that the injuries sustained by the crew during the altercation included a broken nos and bite marks. Following the plane’s arrival, emergency medical staff transported Blair to a local hospital.
A representative for Delta Airlines stated that the flight operations were not disrupted by the incident. Interference with flight crew members on commercial aircraft falls under the jurisdiction of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which took over the case but declined to comment further. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether Blair will face formal criminal charges.
Blair has history of intoxication and multiple sclerosis
Blair experienced a similar travel incident in 2016, when she became intoxicated on an aircraft and required restraint from two nurses. The actress is recognized for her roles in films such as Hellboy and Cruel Intentions. In 2018, physicians diagnosed her with multiple sclerosis, though she reported experiencing symptoms prior to the official diagnosis and announced last year that she was in remission.
