Frank Carter Removes Male Fan in Denver Over Women-Only Moshpit Dispute

“Every time, there is a man who says: ‘[Women] can [be in the moshpit] the whole time.’ Are you stupid? They fucking well cannot,” Frank Carter told a crowd in Denver, Colorado, as reported by visions.de. The confrontation unfolded on Friday, October 9, 2026, during a joint concert featuring the Sex Pistols and Frank Carter, after a male fan vocally objected to the creation of a women-only moshpit.

Carter attempted to explain the reasoning behind the designated space to the audience member. The fan continued shouting negative commentary, including remarks directed at all-gender restrooms inside the venue. Carter then had venue security eject the individual from the concert hall.

Confrontation and Rationale Behind the Moshpit

Following the ejection, Carter addressed the crowd directly regarding why safe spaces at live music events remain necessary. The musician explained that the area allows attendees to dance without the risk of physical intimidation or unwanted contact.

“If you’ve ever wanted to dance in a safe environment without the risk of taking a hardcore ninja’s elbow to the face, being groped by some fucking Neanderthal or—worse—being lectured for three fucking minutes by a man that you actually can mosht, then this is your chance to do it in a safe environment,” Carter stated from the stage, as documented by visions.de.

He added that the setup relies on collective accountability among the attendees present in the room.

“Where not only all the fucking girls are standing behind you, but all the other men in the room will now make sure that all the other fucking drunk men get out of the way,” Carter said.

Carter Clarifies Trans Inclusivity in Female Moshpit

In the aftermath of the Denver show, Carter published an extended statement via his Instagram story addressing online and in-person backlash. He clarified the specific audience intended for the section.

“If you are a man who is bothered by a band making space for an exclusively female moshpit, then you are part of the problem,” Carter wrote, according to visions.de. He added that the designated space was intended to be inclusive of trans persons who seek an environment free from physical or sexual violence.

“This space is designed for people who normally don’t feel safe… to dance and have fun without fear,” Carter wrote on Instagram.

Apology From the Fan’s Father

Days after the incident, Carter shared a direct message he received on Instagram from the father of the ejected fan. The parent issued an apology regarding his son’s conduct during the performance.

“That is not how he was raised, that is not what he was taught. His sisters, ever since they found out about his action, are very upset with him, as am I,” the father wrote in the message published by visions.de. He attributed the behavior to wider societal tensions, stating that misinformation and hostility have affected younger generations.

The Sex Pistols are scheduled to continue performing live dates across the United States before heading to the United Kingdom and Ireland for a series of shows in December 2026.
