Sedona Fundraiser Aims to Fuel Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Research

Sedona, AZ – A local resident is hosting a Happy Hour Fundraiser and Silent Auction this Sunday, October 19, at the Sedona Posse Grounds Hub to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The event, organized by leukemia survivor Tracy Nathan, seeks to raise funds for cancer research and provide a community gathering.

Nathan,a recent arrival to Sedona after living in Burbank,California for several years,is channeling her personal experience with the disease into a philanthropic effort.Having been in remission for 24 years following 36 bags of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, she feels a strong obligation to give back. “I’m a leukemia survivor, so it’s just a way that I can give back,” Nathan said. “I’m still here to talk about it, and I just find it really critically important for me to give back, and this is how I do it.”

The free event will feature charcuterie cups, iced tea, and live classical guitar music performed by Michael Lucarelli. Attendees can also participate in a silent auction offering items like local restaurant gift cards, massages, balloon rides, train rides, and jewelry. Wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be available.

nathan has previously organized eight similar fundraisers in California and hopes to replicate that success in Sedona. “I’m new to Sedona. I’ve only been [here] about a year-and-a-half, and so this is my first fundraiser, and I’m super-excited about it, and just looking forward to getting to know the community,” she explained. “And I think we all know somebody who has had cancer before, and it’s just a great way for me to give back.”

Lucarelli, whose performance will add to the event’s atmosphere, describes his musical style as weaving “a tapestry of musical styles that captivate audiences,” blending latin and classical melodies with popular genres.

Space is limited to the first 100 attendees. interested individuals should contact Nathan at tracyrobinn@icloud.com to receive event details. Donations can also be made directly to Nathan’s LLS fundraising page at pages.lls.org/tnt/team/Yosemit26/TNathan.
