Search for Missing Hikers Continues After Mount Dukono Eruption

Indonesian authorities have deployed 100 rescue personnel to Mount Dukono to locate missing Singaporean nationals following a volcanic eruption.

The search and rescue (SAR) operation has been hampered by persistent volcanic eruptions and rainfall, which have obstructed efforts to reach the missing hikers. These environmental conditions have forced authorities to navigate hazardous terrain while managing the risks associated with ongoing activity at the volcano.

SAR teams have confirmed the recovery of the remains of one climber. While the mission to locate others continues, reports regarding the number of missing persons have varied; some sources specify a search for two Singaporean nationals, while others indicate that three hikers remain unaccounted for.

The search operation was temporarily interrupted by the volcano’s activity but has since resumed. The operation remains active as authorities continue to coordinate the search in the affected areas.
