UIN Jakarta Showcases Cutting-Edge Research Bridging science,Innovation,and Islamic Values at AICIS+ 2025
BANDUNG,INDONESIA – UIN Jakarta (State Islamic University syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta) demonstrated its commitment to both scientific advancement and its unique identity as a faith-based institution at teh AICIS+ 2025 (International Conference on Islamic Science and Innovation) held recently. The university presented a diverse portfolio of research, technological innovations, and initiatives focused on sustainability, health, and societal impact, highlighting the integration of faith and knowledge.
The UIN Jakarta exhibit featured groundbreaking work from across its faculties. From the Faculty of health Sciences (FIKES), researchers showcased practical tools like the Hand-Arm Vibration Calculator, Whole Body vibration Calculator, 03-EBEKER (Workload Evaluation Based on Caloric Needs), and a Noise Calculator. Students from the Pharmacy profession Program contributed impactful educational projects, including Siti Meluria’s work on inhaler Usage Education and Safna Praweswari’s campaign promoting the Proper Use of Antibiotics.
Innovation in healthcare extended to the Faculty of Medicine (FK), where Yogiek Febrilianto, Dyanata irdina Anthea, and Nabila alya Zahidato unveiled SihatTB, a health request designed to support tuberculosis education and prevention. azkiya Alika Putri Ahmudi also presented her research, Propolisul: Immunostimulant Evidence-Based Medicine through Pharmacodynamic and Acute Toxicity Study in Sprague Dawley Rats, wich had previously garnered recognition at the World Invention Competition and Exhibition in Selangor, Malaysia, in 2024.
The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) contributed critically important research in areas like agribusiness, forestry, and natural product chemistry. Notable projects included Agribusiness Risk Mitigation by Dr. Ahmad Mahbudi, Teak Wood Marketing Management by Iwan Aminudin and Dinda Rama Haribowo, and Eco-Enzyme and Immunomodulatory Effects in Honey Active Compounds by Prof. La Ode Sumarlin.
Technological ingenuity was further demonstrated through innovations like Dr.Taufik Sutanto’s ecocluster technology, the Enhanced Helmet Patent developed by Dr. Neny Anggraini and her team, and a particularly popular Garbage Collector Robot created by Muhamad Daffa Muis, a seventh-semester Informatics Engineering student, which drew considerable interest from visiting students of Islamic schools (madrasahs).
Beyond faculty contributions, UIN Jakarta’s Research Center, Journal House, Halal Center, and Green Campus Advancement Center showcased their latest advancements. The Research center highlighted interdisciplinary research programs,while the Journal house promoted UIN Jakarta’s high-ranking journals indexed in Scopus and SINTA,including Studia Islamika,Jurnal Ahkam,Kimia Valensi,JP3I (Faculty of psychology),and etikonomi. The Halal Center presented its science-based research and certification services supporting Indonesia’s growing halal industry.
UIN Jakarta also spotlighted its commitment to environmental sustainability with displays of its Green Campus Innovations, including solar panels, eco-pleasant electric buses (BILISS), and water drinking fountains.
“UIN Jakarta’s participation in AICIS+ 2025 illustrates how the spirit of research and innovation continues to thrive on our campus, creating real contributions to society,” stated UIN Jakarta’s Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D. “It also embodies the integration of faith and knowledge that defines UIN Jakarta.”
