Schottel Bolsters UK & Ireland Presence with New Subsidiary
SPAY, Germany - Schottel, a leading manufacturer of marine propulsion systems, has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, Schottel U.K., to enhance its service and sales capabilities in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The move signifies a commitment to strengthening relationships with regional customers and capitalizing on growth opportunities within the maritime sector.
The new U.K. operation will concentrate on both newbuild and retrofit projects, with a core focus on providing intensified on-site support. Schottel aims to offer direct, customized assistance to naval architects, shipbuilders, and vessel owners throughout the design and procurement phases.
According to schottel Deputy CEO Roland Schwandt, the U.K. market presents significant potential,particularly within the offshore,dredging,ferry,tug,and naval vessel segments.He noted a growing demand for innovative propulsion technologies,including hybrid and electric systems,driven by the industry’s push towards climate-neutral shipping and fleet modernization.
Leading Schottel U.K. as Managing Director is sebastian Sachs, who joined Schottel GmbH in 2016 and previously served as Managing Director of Schottel Nederland – a role he will continue to hold. Supporting Sachs is sales Manager Jordan Soltys, a qualified naval architect and marine engineer with prior experience as a shipbroker, who will serve as the primary customer contact.
