A woman in her twenties is hospitalized with severe injuries following a shooting at a Scarborough mall plaza on Thursday evening. Authorities have apprehended one suspect while searching for others involved.

Toronto police responded to reports of gunfire near Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East around 8 p.m. Officers discovered a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound, who was then transported to the hospital. York Regional Police had pursued a suspected stolen vehicle to the intersection of Bonis and Sheppard Avenues. During an attempt to stop the vehicle, an officer discharged their firearm, striking the sole male occupant.
