Savannah Chrisley engaged to Jason Galanis after Trump commutation
Podcaster Savannah Chrisley announced her engagement and pregnancy, revealing that her fiancé is Jason Galanis, a convicted criminal whose 14-year prison sentence was commuted by Donald Trump in March 2025, The Independent reported.
Instagram Announcement Reveals Engagement to Jason Galanis
Savannah Chrisley broke the news to her followers on Monday morning through an Instagram post. At first, the 29-year-old identified her mystery partner only as “J.” She later expanded on the details during an episode of her podcast, Unlocked, where she named him as Jason.
TMZ subsequently reported that “J” is short for Jason Galanis. The 56-year-old was serving a 14-year federal prison sentence for conspiracy to commit securities fraud, investment adviser fraud, and other offenses before his sentence received a commutation from Trump in March 2025. TMZ reported that the couple began dating in July 2025.
In her social media post, Savannah expressed deep affection for her fiancé. “My protector. My fiercest fighter. My most loyal person. My lover. My safe place,” she wrote, adding that she feels safe and fulfilled for the first time in a long time.
Shared History of Federal Clemency Involving the Trump Administration
The March 2025 commutation for Jason Galanis preceded executive clemency for Savannah’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, by just a few weeks. Savannah met Jason while actively working to secure pardons for her parents.
Todd and Julie Chrisley starred in the reality series Chrisley Knows Best, which ran from 2014 to 2023. In November 2022, a federal jury convicted the multimillionaire couple of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans. Prosecutors stated that the couple walked away from their repayment obligations when Todd Chrisley filed for bankruptcy.
The couple faced additional convictions for tax evasion and conspiracy to defraud the IRS, while Julie Chrisley was also found guilty of wire fraud and obstruction of justice. Courts sentenced Julie Chrisley to seven years in prison and Todd Chrisley to 12 years behind bars, alongside 16 months of probation each and an order to pay $17.8 million in restitution. Following years of legal appeals and vocal support for the Trump administration—including a speech by Savannah at the 2024 Republican National Convention—Trump pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley in May 2025.

Jason Galanis Masterminded a Bond Fraud Scheme
Federal court documents describe Jason Galanis as the mastermind behind a complex fraud scheme involving economic development bonds issued by a Native American tribe. The proceeds of those bonds were diverted for personal use by Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter Biden who was also convicted in the scheme.
Jason Galanis has a history of financial crimes. He was previously convicted of participating in a market manipulation and fraud scheme, during which he violated a Securities and Exchange Commission order that barred him from acting as an officer or executive at publicly traded companies.
His family background also includes white-collar investigations. His father, John Galanis, was a target of a 1980s crime crackdown led by then-New York U.S. Attorney Rudy Giuliani.
