Santa Marinella Launches New Waste Management Initiative with Plastic Bag & Calendar Distribution
Santa Marinella, Italy – Residents of Santa Marinella will begin receiving new plastic bags for waste separation and updated collection calendars as the municipality rolls out an enhanced waste management program. The initiative, announced today, aims to improve recycling rates and maintain the cleanliness of the coastal city.
Mayor Pietro Tidei emphasized the importance of responsible waste disposal, stating, “The correct disposal of waste is a duty that must be respected while respecting the environment, hygiene and decorum of the entire city.” The program responds to growing concerns about plastic pollution and the need for more lasting practices.Councilor Alessio Magliani underscored the need to reduce waste before disposal, adding, “Education on the correct disposal of waste must also be accompanied by education on the reduced production of rubbish, in particular the use of plastic packaging. Relying on separate waste collection alone is not enough. We must commit ourselves to reducing the amount of waste upstream, choosing packaging and adopting eco-sustainable materials.”
The distribution of the specialized plastic bags and accompanying collection calendars marks a key step in the city’s broader effort to promote environmental responsibility and improve public services. Residents are urged to familiarize themselves with the new collection schedule and guidelines to ensure proper waste separation.
