Health Services Provided to Hundreds at Provincial Volleyball Tournament
San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina – A mobile health operation provided crucial medical services to participants and spectators at the Provincial Volleyball Tournament held this Saturday at the Belgrano Complex. Led by the Ministry of Public Health, and with the support of Governor Osvaldo Jaldo, the initiative aimed to prioritize preventative care and immediate attention within the community. Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz of the Ministry of Public Health oversaw the operation, with Dr. Marcelo Montoya representing the health portfolio on-site.
A team of five nurses staffed a health stand offering free blood pressure checks and blood sugar (glycemia) screenings. A total of 45 health benefits were delivered, including 40 blood pressure controls and 5 glycemia determinations. Individuals requiring further care were referred for immediate attention.
Beyond preventative screenings, the team also addressed injuries sustained during the tournament. One patient received assistance and was transported to 107 for wound care, while two volleyball players were treated for bruising in their upper limbs – thankfully, no fractures or dislocations were detected.
The event drew significant attendance from local officials, including National Deputy Gladys Medina, Mayor of San Miguel de Tucumán, Doctor Rossana Chahla, Interior Minister Darío Monteros, and representatives from the Ministry of Sports, the Secretariat of youth, the Secretariat of Government, the Ministry of Defense, Civil Registry, and the Police of Tucumán.
This operation underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to health promotion, prevention, and care throughout the province, bringing vital services directly to community events.
