“The flames were immense,” stated Thorvald Skjelbred, a resident living next door to an apartment building that caught fire.
Following the initial evacuation to the Sandefjord Boat Association, taxis transported the affected residents to the Park Hotel.
“We were provided with rooms, but most of us chose to gather together and converse. It wasn’t long before we were permitted to return to our homes,” Skjelbred recounted.
Skjelbred expressed no concern about the fire spreading to his own apartment, attributing this to the buildingS construction.
“There are fire-resistant compartments separating each apartment,” he explained.
