San Jose Stabbing: 2 Women Arrested in Downtown Murder

Two Arrested in Connection to Fatal San Jose Stabbing

San Jose police announced Wednesday the arrest of two individuals in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred July 20 in the city’s downtown core. Mercedes Rosales, 20, and Micaela Van, 18, both residents of San Jose, were taken into custody Tuesday.

According to police reports, the stabbing took place in the 90 block of South Second Street in the early hours of July 20. Rosales was booked into Santa Clara County Main jail on suspicion of murder, while Van faces charges of accessory to murder. The identity of the victim remains withheld pending notification of next of kin.

This incident marks the 15th homicide investigated by the San Jose Police department (SJPD) this year. The SJPD Homicide Unit is actively seeking additional facts regarding the case.
